This is my particular remake of the AS-Guardia map that came with the first UnrealTournament,
originally created by Cliff Bleszinsky.
This is my particular remake. Of course this version is very similar to the original
map, it has the same architecture and there are no major changes in the map or the
objectives. However, THIS IS NOT an attempt to recreate exactly the original map.
I have added some changes in the decoration, architecture and lighting.
But overall, i think it remains very close to it's original and it gets the same
"feeling" when playing it.
I never liked what i call the "map recycling" but anyway, after playing the
UT2k4 Assault maps, i really wanted to create some little map, without having
vehicles or big areas to explore. I had the idea to create a UT2k4 version of the
AS-Guardia map that came with the first Unreal Tournament.
I always loved that map : it was fast, and very addicting.
As I say, although my idea was to remain very close to the original version,
this is not an attempt to recreate everything 100% exact as the original map.
Decorating with the StaticMeshes makes it a bit different compared with
the original one. In the begining i have added more room and decoration in the
cavern for having more space for the attacking team. In some parts of the map,
i have added more space for the ceiling and placed some Tubes and other stuff,
for giving a bit more eyecandy.
I hope everybody enjoys this map, and it's specially dedicated for those who
played the original UT'99 and spend so many time playing it online.

The .zip file also includes a new gametype called 'Classic Assault' that plays
like normal assault but you can respawn instantly instead of having to wait
several seconds for the reinforcements.
