Magdalena was me and Jason's first collaboration, and initially created for Quake3: Arena. The model was great to work on, from my part especially the animations due to the unusual setup. Since both me and Jason have significantly improved our skills we both wanted to see how Magdalena would look like in a new engine with higher capabilities.
While upping the detail and realism, we tried to stay as close to the original character as possible. Although the old model was used as a blueprint (not as a base) for proportions, everything was built from scratch. The only thing that significantly differs is the turret, which was altered to be compatible with Unreal's dynamic skeletal system.
Like our previous model, Effigy, the model's specs are slightly higher in terms of polycount and number of bones, but this time both the ragdoll and textures are smaller. The hit shouldn't be significant, and certainly less than that of Effigy.
I hope she is as fun to play with as she was in Quake3. Enjoy the model!
