Lag/pl to (despe) servers
Excuse my English but my German is not that good.
Hi peeps, It seems that Level13 is causing issues for me lately, making it harder to enjoy UT as I would like and wondered if you (Donzi ?) have any idea if this is resolvable or not. I'll post my recent treceroute after this message. I do not mind harassing any host, like my own isp or level13, but perhaps it is me somehow ;) Any values above 20 are boo-boos. Traceren van de route naar 95.156.230.70 via maximaal 30 hops Code:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 |
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |
Yeah it seems there are many different routes, my brother from another city using fiber got this, still not sure who to spank though :) :
Code:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms router.asus.com [192.168.1.1] |
Heyho there mother. =) nice to see you here.
I deinstalled UT2004. I just couldn't take the laggs anymore.. My trace route looks as follows: (I have spikes at Level3, too) Code:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 |
traceroutes arent good enough.
please use winmtr And yes, we had a DDoS @ lunchtime, the Datacenter was fast and blocked it. Maybe some IP-addresses still have slight problems |
Kortex, install it again asap! I'm here for years as you know but hardly ever had something to share ;)
If you get lags I'll open some torrents to give you a fair match where we can whine together ;) @Donzi, will do. I hope you'll manage to cope with those, imo totally unnecessary (ppplease stop it if you (annonymous reader) caused it) attacks. Thanks for taking the time to respond and better see you soon Kort! edit: is that Elfen Lied as avatar? edit 2: @Donzi I used default setting and forced a stop around 200, the server doesn't mind such repeated queries? Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |
*offtopic*
Avatar - yes. UT2004 reinstall - mhhhh I don't think so. |
(I see my previous posts require approval. Feel free to delete this and the previous post ;) )
edit: I bet it was because of the image (if so, editing is a workaround) @kort, take your time but.... http://images.buddytv.com/usrimages/...23792_soon.jpg |
I cleaned it up...
The server doesn't really mind these (mass)traceroutes, but the core internet routers do. That why some of them doesn't respond to your pings and traceroutes, it's simply disabled, so the router can do his job - routing packages from A to B. Also some serverproviders block those "ICMP"-Packages, which are only used for pinging etc. That way the attacker can't see if there is a running machine behind that ip. Ofcourse, if you get enough machines and bandwidth, these Pings/Traceroutes can harm your server/bandwidth. But you need too many of them. (Introducing: The botnet...) |
Zitat:
But we didnt see any pl at this mtr-time/your post, but a good 18 ping ^^ Try it next time, mtr is a very good tool to trace any server ;) |
