I like this map. It has a few issues, but nothing huge.

First, textures without alpha should be compressed from RGBA8 to DXT1 (Use DXT3 for masked, or DXT5 for smooth alpha, like glass.) Doing this will reduce the file size from 20mb to 9.

You have the UT2004 weapon base bug. See here: http://imgur.com/CLUAJOe. It helps if you change the default gametype in Level Properties>Level Info to xGame.xDeathMatch from Last Man Standing for easier testing so you see the pickups and weapon bases when you double-click to start the map.

The look of the map is a bit too repetitive, since everywhere you look are brownish-orange textures and ramps and just a few plants. Try adding a few unique textures that you use in only one or two rooms, change the deco meshes or lighting (blue-green complements orange) a bit in certain areas, and maybe make a few of the ramps solid underneath. You want to have something "unique" and easily recognizable in each area of the map. This makes your level easier to navigate and to tell your position at a glance. Also, making it less open helps keep people from dominating with snipers and shock rifles too much, and makes rockets and flak more useful.

I do like the custom texture work, but I don't think the map as a whole works with the glacier skybox at all. A desert or forest sky with warm light would look much better on this map. The textures are also too oversaturated. More neutral colors will show variations in lighting color much better, and just work better in general as base textures. The glass could use some trim around it, and a more "muddy" or dirty looking texture. It's hard to see the actual glass as it is.

Thank you very much for your constructive comments.
The weapon base thing is annoying; I've released a load of maps for 2k4 and I wasn't aware of this. At least it's not unsightly to my eyes.
I don't plan to revise the map, but on any future maps, I'd like to do a better job with texture compression.
I personally quite liked the contrast of the hot inside and cold outside although your suggestions sound good too.
Making each area unique is definitely something I could work on.
